The best way to keep your blinds and shades clean is to prevent dust and dirt from accumulating. You should include cleaning your window coverings when you vacuum or dust your home or once every one or two weeks. If you stay on top of this maintenance, you’ll only need to deep clean your blinds twice a year.

You don’t need any complicated supplies to clean Hunter Douglas blinds. Gather a few clean microfiber cloths, a vacuum with a soft brush attachment, and a bowl of water and dish soap if you’re cleaning EverWood® Faux Wood Blinds or Modern Precious Metals® Mini Blinds. Vacuum your woven wood shades with a brush attachment on low suction once weekly or more often if needed. You can spot clean these shades with a damp cloth, but be careful not to saturate them, as this can affect the integrity of the organic material. If you notice a sticky spot or fingerprint, clean it as quickly as possible so it doesn’t discolor the shade.
